Every tourism destination has its own potencies. The potency of a tourism destination is very important and needs to be collected or documented to give more specific information widely. The tourism destination that has the potencies can influence public’s interest to visit the tourism object. The church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram which has been announced as tangible historical heritage in Kapuas Hulu Regency has also some specific potencies and the potencies of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram can be divided into some aspects such as:

Potency of the Church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram Based on Historical Potency

Many people, especially local citizen, have only known that the potency of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram is just in historical potency. The development of the site as historical building in Sejiram has given many influences to the society such as society’s participation in protecting and maintaining the existence and the environment of the site. The cultural potency on the site can be seen and known when there is a special moment of religious feast day that always performing traditional dances of the Dayaks who live in Sejiram, generally in Seberuang District.

There are three sub-ethics of Dayak (Seberuang, Suhaid and Kantu’) that always participate in performing the dance. Usually, each of the Dayaks always turns in every moment of religious feast day. Their effort in performing the dance in the church is the best effort in preserving their culture besides Gawa’ or Gawai (a harvest feast day of Dayaks) which is annually held in every May to July.

In planning the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as local-level tourism object in Kapuas Hulu Regency, the potency of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram can be identified by SWOT analysis system which contains internal factors: strength (S) and weakness (W), and external factors: opportunity (O) and threat (T) (Ghanbari, Pour, & Barshod, 2012, p. 2953 and Khayyati & Nourani, 2014, p. 16).

By using the SWOT analysis system at the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram, it will be obtained some useful result in comprehending the tourism potency at the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram. SWOT analysis system offers a valuable comparison that will be used as evaluation about the present development and the future planning of a tourism object. The results of SWOT analysis system at the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram can be explained such as follow:

Strengths
1)   The church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram has some potencies that can be developed as tourism attraction like historical, cultural and religious feast day.

3)   Many people just know the site as religious place than tourism object, so they are rarely come and visit to the site.
Opportunities
1)   By opening the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as tourism object there have opportunity to the local society work there.
2)   Location of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram is strategic that is passed directly from Sintang to Sejiram/Semitau, Putussibau to Sejiram/Semitau and also passed by public transportation from Pontianak to Semitau/Suhaid.
Threats
1)    Promotion challenge with another tourism object in Kapuas Hulu Regency.
2)    Limited funds from government and Sintang Diocese, so the development of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as religious tourism object is retarded.

The result of SWOT analysis system at the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram is very variety. The result shows many potencies of the site that have to be developed. By comparing the result of SWOT analysis system to each aspect, it can be concluded that the future development of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram is going to be attractive.

In planning the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as local-level tourism destination, there are some efforts can be used by the government of Kapuas Hulu Regency, Sintang Diocese and natives in local-level planning of tourism which are as follow:

Managing the Purpose of the Church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram

In planning a new object as tourism destination, the first thing that must be the best reason is the purpose of managing the object as the new tourism object. The government of Kapuas Hulu Regency has applied this first step to the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram by promoting the site to the ministry of culture and tourism as the new site in Kapuas Hulu Regency. The reasonable purpose in promoting the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as a local-level tourism destination in Kapuas Hulu Regency is to develop the potencies that are possessed by the site. The government cooperated with Sintang Diocese and natives have monitored and learnt the existence and the potencies of the site for years. By becoming the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as the local-level tourism destination, it is expected that the development of tourism industry in Kapuas Hulu Regency can be more interesting to be visited.

Determining the Asset of the Church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram

The second step in planning the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as the local-level tourism destination is by determining the asset of the site. This second step expects many profits and the local-level planning of tourism is the basic purpose why the asset is needed to. The government of Kapuas Hulu Regency, Sintang Diocese and natives have seen and researched the purpose of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as the new tourism destination because the site hides potency and asset that they do not see before. By this valuable information, it is expected that the existence of the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram can be well managed and protected for the next generation in appreciating and maintaining the church of Saint Fidelis Sejiram as the most valuable heritage in future.
