If it is not done from now, then when? That is one of the basic questions of several changes and developments that make Gereja Katolik Santo Fidelis Sejiram increasingly known and get a great attention from various parties, both from the people who live around Sejiram and from outside the region, and from the Catholic Church to the Government. This is because Gereja Katolik Santo Fidelis Sejiram has become the most valuable heritage in Sejiram which has reconstructed several times, both heavy and light reconstructions. Even so, it does not reduce the value and its meaning to make it as a historical building which has a very important role for the development of Catholics that originated from Sejiram Village, Seberuang District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province.
In 2018, Gereja Katolik Santo Fidelis Sejiram has been reconstructed which focused on the aspects of the initial building structure when the church was first built. Father Yohanes Sukiman, CP as a parish priest strongly supports that reconstruction and together with the support of all the local people have tried their best efforts to finish the reconstruction. Hopefully, this reconstruction will further increase the longing for local people to further enhance the familiarity of Catholics to Jesus Christ. Amen.

The photograph above is the statue of Saint Fidelis in Gereja Katolik Santo Fidelis Sejiram.
It does not matter if we spend our break time with different ways. See these beautiful dragonflies which we name ensibuh in Dayak language in Sejiham. They have different ways in perching. When I took these photographs, I had to come closely and quietly moved my handphone to capture these beautiful moments.
Today’s weather is hot. It is definitely hot. Even the fly has to hide behind a leaf. Even though there is a great problem coming to us, just keep calm and face it with patience, because a hot day in our life will be over when its time comes.
In Sejiram, many people use this plant – senggang – to make tikar (a woven mat) which is used as a daily mat and also to dry paddy during the hot weather. These photographs are the fruit of senggang which can be eaten, even though its taste is sour.
It is believed – by Dayak people in Sejiram – that there is a kind of beautiful mushroom called Kulat Buah as a sign that fruit season will begin soon.
The people in Sejiram know about Gabus Fish – also known as Common Snakehead – and it is named Delak. So, when the luck (keberuntungan) is displayed as the title of this post, many non-native speaker of English especially in Sejiram will think and pronounce it as delak – with d without ð.
Be like a drop of water that descends to refresh people who are thirsty like comforting a soul thirsts for a happiness. Happy Sunday.
When you feel that you are standing alone, there is a part of your life shadowing. You can only feel it if you really realize who you are, because the shadow of your life will be seen clearly by a guidance of the light of life.
This Entuyut – nepenthes – is the smallest Entuyut I have ever seen in my village. The plant grows wildly near my house in Sejiram.
So, I take some photos of the plant and measure its size.
It has 3 cm length.
Many families, especially in Sejiram, use Simpuh or Asam Cekala’ (also known as ginger family) as a flavour of some meats, and it can be mixed with chilli sauce.
Colours Make You Knowledgeable.
The people in Sejiram call these plants as Entuyut also known as Pitcher-plant.
Entuyut can be easily found there and these scenes are located in the backyard of my house in Sejiram.
There is one thing, besides the other things, that we have to know about who we are is to understand each other, because sometimes we need to leave our comfort zone to know who we are.
In the photo above, people in Sejiram name those insects as Lado’.
When two or more ideas are combined, the more fantastic things can be made. Plastic flowers idea by my sister in law, Biduri, and a night sleep lamp with pipe stick by me. 😀
